Four London FA Award gongs for Bexley residents

Bexley football fanatics have scooped four prizes at the London FA Awards following a ceremong at Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park ground.

Holly Orton from Foots Cray Lions FC won young volunteer of the year. Holly started volunteering three years ago. She referees junior matches, volunteers at club social events and is currently working to help run and coach primary school girls district football team.

Bexley-based Alan Hill won the outstanding contribution to refereeing award.

Parkwood FC picked up the award for Female Charter Standard Club of the Year. The club train regularly at Hall Place.

Volunteer of the Year was won by Angela Wood who volunteers at Junior Reds in Bexley.

More than 100 volunteers, supporters and members of staff come together to celebrate the work of volunteers within grassroots football across the county over the last season.
