The borough is ramping up its efforts for the Stoptober campaign

Free advice, support and treatment will be available for people aiming to kick their smoking habit for ‘Stoptober’.

All of the borough’s GP practices and the Stop Smoking Service will be offering their services in a bid to get even more people to give up smoking for good or to swap to ‘vaping’.

Bexley currently has the highest quit rate and the lowest number of smokers in south-east London.

Cabinet member for community safety, environment and leisure councillor Peter Craske said: “Our Stop Smoking service have a great track record at offering the support smokers need to help break their habit. “The Stoptober campaign is the perfect time for anyone thinking about stopping for the sake of their health, their children’s health and even their budget to give up and contact the team.”
