Bizzykidz Agency will feature on Tiny Tots Talent Agency
The director of a Bexleyheath-based talent agency will be hosting a champagne reception tonight when her agency becomes the star of a new Channel 4 series.
Debi Clark set up Bizzykidz Agency 20 years ago, and will now some of the 1,300 young talents signed up to the agency appear on the small screen.
Mrs Clark, who started up the agency from her bedroom, said: “At first I was doing my hair and make up every day, but you end up forgetting the cameras are there and you just act naturally.
“All the footage they’ve used is us acting naturally, nothing was scripted.”
Faces from the agency have appeared in adverts for supermarkets as well as fashion brands, while young talents have also featured in soap opera roles and touring theatre productions including Billy Elliot.
The 52-year-old had the chance to see the documentary before it airs, and admits she was worried about how the documentary would portray the agency.
She said: “I didn’t want it to focus on pushy parents, or stroppy kids, but this documentary is just a fly on the wall that’s very factual.
“There are some funny moments, and all of the parents are happy with it.”
TwoFour approached the agency to film two years ago.
Creative director David Clews said: “We live in a society where fame has never been more accessible for children, but as this series reveals it takes hard work, talent and a lot of cuteness to reach the top of your game, especially when you’re 4ft tall.
“We’ll take the viewer centre stage of the exciting world of child talent as kids and parents their ultimate dream.”
The first episode of The Tiny Tots Talent Agency will appear on Channel 4 tonight (Tuesday) from 8pm.
