From eggs to lambs, have cracking Easter

DURING the Easter weekend there will be plenty of in-borough events to hop off to.

Spring-time events will start off tomorrow at Erith Riverside Shopping Centre, where a face painter will be ready to transform tots for free between 11am and 4pm.

A lambing day is due to take place this Saturday at the Woodlands Farm, in Shooters Hill Welling, from 11am to 4.30pm.

Aside from seeing the new-born lambs, visitors can also take part in a treasure hunt or buy home made produce including honey, cakes and preserves.

The farm charges £1 for adults and 50p for children.

Churchgoers will provide street music in Passey Place, Eltham from 11am to 2pm.

In Greenwich town centre this Sunday a large Easter Hat Parade is planned in Cutty Sark Gardens from 1.30pm with winners' prizes including children's theatre tickets, books and eggs. Jugglers are set to perform at 2pm, and throughout the day Blackheath Arts Society will hold a sale and there will be a continental market. Meanwhile Greenwich Market is set to host an egg and spoon race with chocolates for all participants. In East Greenwich Pleasaunce, in Westcombe Park, there will be an Easter Egg hunt from 11am to 1pm.

Jugglers are due to perform at 12.15pm, which will be followed by Easter Hat Parade at 1pm, with prizes for the best hats and chocolates for all entrants.

For the next week the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, will hold Easter Egg Hunts. Children will get a map and a prize for £1 until Sunday, April 19.

Parents with children under 10 years can visit Well Hall Pleasaunce for an Easter Challenge, starting at Moat Island at 11am and finishing at 1pm this Sunday.

There will also be an egg hunt around Eltham Town centre today until this Saturday.

Traders have hidden eggs in shop windows with clues that can lead to prizes.

Entry forms are available from the Eltham Centre, in Archery Road.

Next Monday, April 13, Hall Place and Gardens, in Bourne Road, Bexley, is due to host an Easter Eggstravahanza.

The day includes an egg-Olympics, craft activities and a garden trail peppered with chocolates. Tickets cost £4 per child.

At the World of Golf, in Sidcup Bypass, Chislehurst, a family fun day will be held between 11am and 3pm, including a golf trick shot show.

Also on Monday, an Easter Fayre and Egg Hunt are due to take place in Eltham Green Park from 1.30pm to 4.30pm in aid of Greenwich and Bexley Hospice.
