A COUNCIL has been given £145,000 to help its work with migrants.

Bexley council was successful in its bid to the Migrant Impact Fund this year (2009-2010) and the money will be used to promote community unity and education.

So far, one worker has been recruited and part of their role will be to gain a more up-to date picture of Thamesmead's social and ethnic make-up.
