SCORES of estate agents have entered the prestigious Property Awards and the chance to win £10,000 of invaluable advertising and help for their businesses.

Archant London, publishers of the Times and Reporter, is rewarding excellence in the property industry by holding the Archant London Property Awards 2009.

The awards will culminate in a black-tie gala evening on September 18 at the International Hotel in London's Docklands.

Celebrity TV and radio star Paul Ross will host the evening and there will be a three course dinner followed by dancing to a live band.

Estate agents in South East London and North West Kent are bidding for prizes in nine different categories and a share of the £10,000 prize pot.

Archant London's Head of Communication, Steve Fenton, said: "In challenging times both businesses and consumers turn to tried and trusted brands, you know what you can expect.

"Archant brands are embedded in communities and are a part of every day life, and our experiences show more people are sticking with trusted sources of local media during the economic down turn."

The prize will consist of options to help the winners promote their business by using Archant London printed or online media services.

He added: "This prize is designed with a view to reviewing and advising leading businesses on how they present themselves to potential as well as existing customers.

"So by offering winners the chance to promote their business with us will in turn, help raise their company profile and re-enforce the message that they are continuing as a driving force during recession."

The nine categories are Residential estate agency of the year, Residential multi branch estate agency of the year, Letting agency of the year, Commercial agency of the year, Residential development of the year, Start up of the year, Innovation of the year, Negotiator of the year and the Lifetime achievement award.
