The Tannery Gardens in Crayford were officially opened last Friday after extensive improvements.

Artwork, new paintings and furniture have contributed to the project, which have transformed the overgrown, untidy and inaccessible site next to the River Cray.

The project has been funded by waste management firm Cory Environmental and Bexley Council.

The completion of Tannery Gardens follows on from other regeneration projects in Crayford such as the Waterside Gardens, Shenstone Park and Crayford Town Hall.

Cllr Linda Bailey said: “The completion of Tannery Gardens is the icing on the cake for local residents, traders and visitors.

“This small garden complements all the work carried out previously in Waterside Gardens, and creates a really attractive entrance to Crayford.”
