COMMUTERS were held up this week by major gas works that are expect to last until Halloween.

Southern Gas started digging up Station Road, by Sidcup Police Station, on Monday morning requiring north-bound traffic to be diverted down Hatherley Road.

Northbound buses on routes 51, 160, 229, 233, 286, 492, 625 and the N21 have all been diverted onto this route.

Southbound buses on route 233 towards Swanley will not be stopping at Sidcup Station on Jubilee Way, but will instead run from Longlands Road into Station Road.

The road works came close on the heels of works outside Morrisions Supermarket, and are expected to last until late October 2009. For more information visit www.tfl.gov.uk or check posters at Sidcup bus stops.
