THIS week our Help A Pet appeal is looking for homes for six puppies and their greyhound mum.

Twiggy was a stray greyhound living wild in a wood in Ireland, where she gave birth to a litter of Lurcher puppies.

After a farmer threatened to shoot them all on sight, Twiggy and her pups were rescued and brought to Kent.

The puppies, three boys and three girls, are now about 14-weeks-old.

As they did have not had a proper start in life they have certain needs.

Fosterer Terry Kemp said: "They should be trained with food rewards, be introduced to life's noises and will require socialising. Each puppy will be rehomed where there is already a dog in residence."

The pups have now been ear-tattooed, micro chipped, vaccinated, wormed and defleaed. New owners will have to get them neutered they are six-months-old.

Twiggy, who is about three-years-old, needs a home with someone who has experience of Greyhounds or Lurchers.

If you can offer a home to any of the pups or their mum, call Terry on 07821 318241.
