GOLFERS are being asked to buy pink golf balls in a bid to raise money for testicular cancer research.

Former Pop Idol judge Neil Fox helped launch the two-month scheme 'One Ball or Two' at The World of Golf ranges, including their course on the Sidcup By-pass in Chislehurst.

One or two pink balls can be bought for golfers to use to take a swing at a designated target.

Through tracking unique numbers on each ball, bosses at the World of Golf will reward players scoring a hole in one with £200 cash.

It costs £1 for one pink ball or £1.50 for two pink balls with all proceeds going to testicular cancer research at Cancer Research UK.

The former Capital FM DJ said: "I love golf and I think it's a brilliant idea to encourage players to have fun on the driving range whilst raising money to help the fight against testicular cancer.

"I'm going to give the target my very best shot and see if I can encourage more people to do the same."
