Silicon giant Google visited Sidcup to teach more than 60 local businesses how to promote their firms online.

The event was hosted by Old Bexley and Sidcup MP James Brokenshire last Friday in the New Community Church, Station Road. Experts from Google gave advice on how to utilise social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Mr Brokenshire said: “E-commerce is becoming an increasingly important part of the economy as we change the way that we shop and do business.

“This event with Google will offer local entrepreneurs and businesses the chance to pick up some new tips and ideas. Feedback from the event was really positive underlining the interest local firms have in boosting their businesses online.”
