A GRANDMOTHER-of-16 has bagged thousands of pounds at the bingo.

The 62-year-old woman from Bexleyheath, who does not want to be identified, scooped the £44,958.59 High 5 jackpot at the Gala Bingo in her home town last Thursday.

Everyone in the club was clapping and cheering when she won the rollover prize but she admits she is still bewildered. The winner said: "I'm still in absolute shock.

"I'm a very loyal bingo player but have never even dreamed of winning anything like this. I've been playing bingo for many years - this High 5 game is fantastic."

"I've got a very large family - sixteen grandchildren - so this is a chance for me to give something back to them.
