THOUSANDS of Britons left stranded abroad because of the Icelandic volcanic ash are facing travel chaos as they try to make their way home by other means.

Desperate travellers have been forced to pay well over the odds to return to the UK since the eruption grounded all flights last Thursday.

The disruption is estimated to be costing the economy up to £500 million per day as business and trade has come to a halt.

Meanwhile ferry and train companies have seen a surge in bookings from holiday makers' as they struggle to get home.

Do you know anybody in Dartford, Gravesend, Bromley or Bexley who has been affected by the volcano?
