Public health minister Steve Brine visited Bexleyheath on Thursday, June 7 to meet leading health professionals, officials and councillors.

Sir David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, raised some of the local public health issues during a House of Commons debate on childhood obesity in Bexley, and subsequently invited the minister to visit the borough.

The meeting took place at the Civic Offices with council leader Cllr Teresa O’Neill, and was organised by Dr Anjan Ghosh, director of public health, and Bexley Council.

The meeting highlighted the challenges facing Bexley borough, the proactive and innovating work being carried out in the area of public health and the questions around resources.
