The partnership received special recognition from an MP

A business partnership aimed at improving Bexleyheath town centre has received praise from a senior MP.

Bexleyheath Business Partnership received a ‘special recognition’ commendation by high streets minister, Andrew Percy, along with eleven other organisations.

The partnership missed out in last year’s Great British High Street Awards, but despite the loss, has been commended for promoting the identity of Bexleyheath’s town centre and selling the town through events and promotion.

“The success of our high streets in boosting local economies and creating and protecting jobs relies on the support of an army of local traders and volunteers,” said Mr Percy.

“Bexleyheath Business Partnership and the other Special Recognition award winners are fantastic examples of people who give their all - day in and day out - to make our communities better places to live, work and socialise, as well as shop.

“I’d like to commend the team for their fantastic contribution and thank them for their hard work in Bexleyheath.”

Tony Garratt of Bexleyheath Business Partnership added: “It gives us great honour in receiving this special recognition commendation for our application for the Great British High Street Awards.

“We have had some great successes in 2016 and will strive to improve in the years ahead to make sure Bexleyheath is recognised as a great destination of choice for being a safe, diverse and vibrant Town Centre for all to enjoy.”
