THIS rag and bone man was happy to pose for a picture while doing his rounds in the 1960s.

Reader Ivy Butler sent in this picture of the rag and bone man, known as Mr Darling, from Eltham, following an article about the tradesmen in our Times Past column last month.

In this picture, Mr Darling is posing with Mrs Butler's young son Philip who took a ride on his horse-drawn cart in 1967 in Steyning Grove in the Mottingham Estate.

Mrs Butler said: "Mr Darling was a very nice man and gave Philip sixpence when he got off.
