A HORSE had to be put down after it was involved in a car accident.

A HORSE had to be put down after it was involved in a car accident.

The horse was being ridden in North Cray Road, Sidcup, when it was involved in the accident at approximately 4.50pm last Friday.

A fire engine and an ambulance arrived on the scene and the female horse rider was taken to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, where she was treated for a back injury.

The RSPCA sent a vet to the scene where they had to destroy the seriously injured horse.

Police officers cordoned off the road and re-opened it at 6.20pm.

No arrests have been made and police are not investigating the incident.
