Attempted robbery in Abbey Wood left 18-year-old with seven-inch wound

POLICE are hunting for a violent attacker who slashed a teenage girl across the stomach in an attempted robbery in Bexley.

The 18-year-old was left with a seven-inch wound after the man tried to grab her bag in New Road, Abbey Wood.

He punched her in the face when she fought back, but he still left empty-handed. The girl was taken to hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged.

The attack happened at about 8.20pm on Thursday, August 20.

The suspect is black, in his early 20s and about 6ft tall with a shaved head. His right eyebrow was pierced with a stud.
