Investigation begins after house fire in Erith

A woman was treated for shock at the scene

The cause of a fire which tore through the first floor of an Erith house is being investigated.

Four fire engines carrying 21 firefighters were called to the blaze on Barnehurst Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

A woman was treated at the scene for shock by London Ambulance Service crews.

Crews were called just after 4.30pm and brought the fire under control before 5.20pm.
