A CLOWN who fell in love with a dancer who worked at the same circus has asked her to marry him.

A CLOWN who fell in love with a dancer who worked at the same circus has asked her to marry him.

Circus comic Alex T Clown - real name Alex Morely, 20, from Norwich received a 'yes' when he asked dancer Emily Sheridan, 20, from Reading to marry him during a rehearsal for Zippo circus at Blackheath on Monday.

The couple met during a show last year and have been going out for a year.

Mr Morely said: "When I proposed to Emily, I wasn't sure if she'd take me seriously. After all, I am a clown - she might have thought I was joking!"

The happy couple have not set a date for the big day yet.

The circus continues its stint at Blackheath until next Tuesday.

The performance starts with the golden era of the traditional horse-drawn show and continues though modern-day circus acts including the Wheel of Death, high-wire walkers without a safety net, trapeze and flip-flapping acrobats.
