Proposals suggest the post office’s move could also result in longer hours and Sunday opening
Joydens Wood’s post office could be moved to a local shop nearby.
A proposal has suggested the post office be moved to McColl’s Retail Group on Birchwood Parade, Woodside Drive, in Joydens Wood.
The move would provide greater accessibility, as the current post office has several steps.
There would also be an increase in opening times of 30 hours and 30 minutes, as the service aims to be available on Sundays and open earlier and close later every day.
Regional network manager for The Post Office, Will Russell said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in this area of Joydens Wood and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
The Post Office is now inviting the public to respond in a public consultation to voice any concerns, the public can email their concerns at this address firstname.lastname@example.org
The consultation will close January 4.
