KENTISH Times journalists Martin Sawden and Kate Bryson join Paul Maddox this Sunday to take part in the Hever Castle triathlon.

Reporter Martin, 35, recently pedalled to Paris to raise cash for the British Legion. Martin is taking part in the run - the final part of the Hever triathlon. The distance is five miles.

Deputy editor Kate Bryson is competing in the first part of the event - the swim across a lake totalling half-a-mile.

Paul Maddox, a motorbike mechanic from Sidcup, and regular triathlete is competing in the bike race of 25 miles in length.

Kate, a seasoned triathlete, said: "We are looking forward to taking part in the Hever Castle event. It is an inaugural race at the Castle and the organisers tell me there are a lot of people of mixed abilities taking part.

"The grounds at Hever are beautiful and it will be fun to take part in such sumptuous surroundings."

Group editor Melody Foreman said: "Martin, Kate and Paul will be wearing Kentish Times team shirts so if readers see them give them a shout of support."

The team results will be published next week.
