A DANCER is appealing to Times readers to find a partner to help her achieve a life-long dream to win a ballroom competition.
Laura Cook, 27, from Bickley, is desperate to learn Latin dancing and become good enough to win a competition - but she can't join classes without a partner.
Three years ago, Miss Cook made a list of 10 things she wanted to do but number nine - to win a Latin dance competition - is proving the most difficult.
She said: "I read a book on the science of success and how to change your life. I made a list of 10 things I wanted to do. It included running a marathon, going on an exotic holiday, buying my own home, volunteering my time, all of which I have done.
"The last two on the list are winning a Latin ballroom competition and getting engaged - both of which I am working on!"
But Miss Cook, an RE teacher at St Catherine's RC School in Bexleyheath, said her boyfriend Eric would not be a suitable dance companion due to his size 13 feet.
She added: "He's great but he has no natural dancing ability. I want someone who will be good enough to compete."
Miss Cook is particularly interested in the Cha-cha-cha and plans to start dance classes at the Bickley School of Dancing Ballroom and Latin in St Augustines Avenue, Bickley.
She said she loves dancing and even set up the Irish Dancing Society at Leeds University where she was a student and taught it to children and adults on a recent trip to Mexico.
However she would be at a beginner level for Latin dancing.
