Staff from an Erith law firm were among 6,000 people who walked through London to raise money to ensure those on low incomes have access to legal help.

Lawyers and other workers from the Cross Street Law Centre at Erith Riverside Shopping Centre have managed to raise £750 so far after walking 10km on May 21. The walk started at the Royal Courts of Justice and took in other legal landmarks and saw the most people taking part since its launch in 2004.

Cross Street Law Centre chief executive Kathy Smith said: “This is the second time we have taken part and have so far managed to raise £750, however, it is not too late to donate.

“We are so thankful to all those who have sponsored us and the support we received from the people of Erith as we depend solely on fund-raising. The atmosphere was fantastic and it was such a privilege to take part in such a good cause.”

For more information on how to donate, visit www.cslawcentre.org.uk and click on Funding, or pop in to The Cross Street Law Centre, 4 Cross Street.
