A WATERSPORTS centre is offering sailing courses to women this autumn with a chance to race on Halloween.

Danson Park Watersports Centre in the Boathouse, Danson Park, Bexleyheath, will be hosting the range of courses to suit absolute beginners to more experienced sailors.

Basic sailing skills will be taught at a two-day course from Saturday, October 25, from 10am until 3pm.

Those who have sailed before can attend a two-day seamanship skills course beginning this Saturday. Both courses cost £15.

Open workshops costing £2 a session begin at Erith Yacht Club in Manor Road, Erith, on Wednesday, October 7, and run monthly until March. No workshop will be held in January.

For all courses, equipment is provided at no cost and those taking part are taught by qualified Royal Yachting Association instructors.

The Halloween race day at the centre will include race coaching and the chance to win a trophy.

To book a place, or for further information, contact Danson Park Watersports Centre on 020 8303 2828, email watersports@bexley.gov.uk or visit www.bexley.gov.uk/watersports.
