Cake sale proves extremely popular

A Bexley leisure centre has raised more than £300 for a children’s charity through a cake sale.

Staff at Crook Log Leisure Centre, in Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, raised the cash for the charity Together for Short Lives on Thursday. The charity helps children with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions.

Receptionist Julie Downham organised the sale after a successful Christmas jumper fundraiser in December.

“I’m extremely pleased with the money raised,” she said.

“Some customers were digging deep in their pockets to donate to such a brilliant charity.”
