A LANTERN procession made its way through a historical Maritime route as a town's Christmas lights were turned on.

The festive lights in Greenwich town centre were turned on by the Mayor Steve Offord last Friday.

Pupils from Saint Alfege, Creek Road Greenwich and Saint Peter's, Crescent Road, Woolwich, James Wolfe School, Randall Place, Greenwich and Halstow Road and John Harrison Way, Greenwich made their own lanterns.
