PARKING inspectors are often hate figures, but at least they can only ticket people with cars – unlike a TV licence inspector recently jailed for fining people who don t even own a television.

PARKING inspectors are often hate figures, but at least they can only ticket people with cars - unlike a TV licence inspector recently jailed for fining people who don't even own a television.

Oluwagbenga Olaniyan, 45, turned to deception when told he could lose his job unless he nailed enough telly-bandits.

As a result, The People reported that four homes in Sidcup and one in his home town of Gravesend had court summons float through their letterboxes - with a threat of a £1,000 fine.

Maidstone Crown Court gave Olaniyan 40 weeks in the slammer where the former tax enforcer will get to see plenty of TV thanks to, yep, taxpayers' money.

We love it when a story comes full circle.
