Bexleyheath Academy students will be in attendance

Shoppers visiting Bexleyheath are getting ready for the opening of the town’s new Lidl store.

Opening its doors this morning, students from Bexleyheath Academy will be in attendance to cut the store’s ribbon and play live music for customers.

Doors opened at 8am, with Lidl promising a half-price discount on selected fruit and vegetables for the next seven days.

The 1,300m² store, based opposite Bexleyheath’s Marriott Hotel, has brought 40 jobs to the town and has 140 car parking spaces.

Lidl UK’s regional head of property, Olu Johnson, commented: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Bexleyheath. It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our products to the local community.”
