Find out what happened in last night’s episode of Great British Bake Off
The Great British Bake Off is well and truly underway, and, as usual, the nation is gripped by the hourly dose of tense baking.
Viewer ratings have peaked at more than 10million viewers per episode so far this series, and last night the heat ramped up in the Bake Off kitchen.
Contestants took on three challenges for this week’s bread-based challenges - including an ovenless bake.
Three weeks on from her Star Baker performance, Beckenham’s Jane Beedle struggled to wow judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry for most of the episode.
But the 61-year-old ultimately impressed with her chorizo and pesto loaves in the showstopper challenge.
Meanwhile Rav Bansal, from Erith, continued with a mixed week, starting off with an impressive a cardamom-infused chocolate bread.
The 27-year-old’s technical challenge - a steam baked German bun - was rolled back into a dough ball before his eyes as Hollywood slammed the raw bake.
Both of Kent’s competitors survived as 20-year-old Michael Georgiou was chopped from the competition.
Next week, the nine remaining bakers will take on batter week.
