Long-serving Bexley carers were honoured for years of service.
Of the 11 fostering households who received certificates, five were recognised for five years service, two for 10 years, three for 15 years and one for 30 years.
Diane Boon has been fostering in Bexley for 15 years having been a youth leader in the borough beforehand.
This role led Diane, who looks after teenage girls, into fostering.
She said; “You have to be committed to be a foster carer and be prepared for anything.
“One of the best things about fostering is seeing a young person leave your home independent and happy and go on to make something of themselves.”
