Man arrested after Erith stabbing

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion after a stabbing in Erith yesterday.

Police were called just after 1pm and the suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He was taken to a south London police station for questioning and a 49-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with knife wounds.

Bexley Det Ch Insp Gary Holmes said: “I would like to reassure the public that a suspect has been detained.

“I am appealing for witnesses. If anyone has any information can they call 0208 284 9171 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
