Man on run from prison arrested and charged over Thamesmead robberies

A robber on the run from prison has been arrested and charged by police.

Darren Crossgill, 37, was arrested on Monday after absconding from HMP Springhill following a day release on November 9.

He has been charged with three counts of robbery between Tuesday, November 26 and Friday, November 29 all in the Thamesmead area.

He appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court yesterday, and was remanded in custody until a date yet to be confirmed.
