A MAN'S body was found after a house fire on a weekend.

Twenty fire fighters were called to Lee Park, in Blackheath, at 7.40am last Saturday.

Part of the first floor was damaged, and an older man was discovered dead. Its cause is being investigated.

In a separate incident at 8.45pm on Sunday, crews tackled another house fire in Luddesdon Road, Erith. Two adults and three children left the flat before firefighters arrived.

The fire damaged the ground and first floor as crews fought for an hour to contain it.

The Eltham Centre, in Archery Road, was closed this week after a fire on Saturday night.

Half of an electrical room and part of the ground and first floor were damaged by the blaze. A safety inspection is being carried out by investigators.
