RUSH hour trains into central London were cancelled when a man was hit by a train.

The 5.10pm from Charing Cross heading into Dartford struck a man at Albany Park Station, Bexley on Tuesday evening, causing services to be suspended for hours.

A spokesperson for Southeastern Trains confirmed the person involved survived the incident. London Ambulance Services (LAS) sent one response vehicle, two ambulances and an air ambulance to help rescue the man from under the train.

A spokesperson for LAS said: "The man was taken to the Royal London Hospital with severe leg injuries.
