Manslaughter suspect faces trial

A MAN has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a 64-year-old who was found near a bus stop with serious head injuries.

A MAN has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a 64-year-old who was found near a bus stop with serious head injuries.

Billy Williams, 23, of Luddesdon Road, Erith, appeared at the Old Bailey on January 6 following the death of Charles Campbell, from Bexleyheath, who died in hospital on September 28 last year.

Mr Campbell was found a day earlier with serious head injuries near a bus stop in Bexley Road, Erith.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as an injury to the brain.

Williams was remanded in custody and due to be tried by jury at the Old Bailey on March 11.
