Margaret Thatcher’s funeral takes place this morning in St Paul’s Cathedral.
The first, and so far only, female British Prime Minister died on April 8 following a stroke.
A divisive character during her premiership, her death was met with mixed emotions - some have mourned her while others have planned protests, although potential protesters have had to run them by the Metropolitan Police in an unusual development.
Baroness Thatcher first stood as a Conservative parliamentary candidate in Dartford, twice in the 1950s, which included parts of Bexley such as Erith at the time.
