Bexley mayor attends opening of Indian restaurant in Welling

Mayor and Mayoress of Bexley, Cllr Peter and Irene Reader, attended the opening of a new Indian restaurant in Welling.

Rice and Spices is owned by Muhammad Miah, who also owns three Indian restaurants in Essex - Masalla, Chillies and Popadom.

Mr Miah, who has been in the industry for 25 years, said: “It was great that the Mayor and Mayoress came along for the opening.

“It was a nice day which we all enjoyed.

“The first couple of weeks since the opening have been pretty good, especially during the Easter holidays and we hope to continue like this.”

Mr Miah also received a card from the Mayor, complementing the food and service.

Rice & Spices is in Upper Wickham Lane, Welling.
