A modelling competition for young children has raised nearly £1,500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s childrens’ charity.

Eight winners were announced for the Model Tots competition at Broadway Shopping Centre.

Sponsor Nigel Barrett photography made a donation for each child who entered the free competition.

In total, 1,405 children entered in the hope of winning an elite modelling contract.

Teddy Smith from London, and Freya Heywood from Eltham won in the 0-1 year category, while in the 1-2 years category, the winners were announced as Alex Callen from Abbey Wood and Dolcie Flannery from Erith.

Isaac Kebede from London and Daisy Haydon from Bexley won in the 2-3 years category, and in the 3-5 years category the winners were Archie Lester from Sidcup and Emily Willoughby from Barnehurst.

All eight winners will be invited to an awards ceremony, at Bexley Civic Offices, attended by the Mayor of Bexley, in July, when the two overall winners will be announced.

Event photographer and sponsor Nigel Barrett, whose business is based in Bexleyheath, said: “Great Ormond Street is a great hospital. It’s nice to be able to help the less fortunate, especially children going through a really hard time.”
