Mottingham woman Hayley Cork is holding a fundraising event on Saturday to drum up support for running the London Marathon next April in honour of her stillborn niece.

Daisy was stillborn on July 22 of this year and the 24-year-old is taking on the 26.2 mile challenge the charity Tommy’s, which funds medical research into pregnancy complications.

Hayley said: “Losing a baby, at any stage, is a traumatic and heartbreaking time for the whole family.

“I am running to keep Daisy’s memory alive and to know that I am doing my bit to stop this happening in the future.”

The event takes place at Catford Cricket Club in Penerley Road, Catford, from 1pm to 5pm and will include arts and crafts, face painting and a range of refreshments.

Hayley hopes to raise £2,500 in total. To sponsor her visit
