MP and Mayor join 100th birthday celebration in Barnehurst

MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, David Evennett, joined Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Peter Reader, on Friday (February 16) to celebrate the 100th birthday of a resident.

Mr Evennett and cllr Reader were honoured to be guests at Tom Jones’ birthday gathering, where they enjoyed speaking to and getting to know the local.

The significant milestone was celebrated at Groveland Park care home in Stephen Road, Barnehurst, where Mr Evennett spoke with Tom and his guests about his long life and the many experiences he has had.

He said: “I was delighted to be able to join Tom on this tremendous milestone.

“He has certainly had an interesting and long life, and it was fantastic to be able to meet him”.
