He was given information about guide dog access refusals
MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford David Evennett met with representatives of the guide dogs lobby of Parliament on Wednesday (May 25).
He was given information about the Access All Areas campaign, which aims to raise awareness of people being refused entry to places because they have a guide dog and to ensure more is done to prevent these refusals from happening.
Richard Greenwood, who lives in Welling with his guide dog Zeus, spoke to the MP about his experiences of access refusals.
After the event, Mr Evennett commented: “It is unacceptable for anyone to be refused access to a service because they have a guide dog, and it is great to be able to show support for the work The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association do to educate the public on these important matters.
“I also enjoyed the opportunity to speak with Richard to discuss the problems he has faced locally, and I will be taking forward the issues he highlighted.”
