A BEXLEY MP has written to the rail minister demanding action to reduce overcrowding on trains.

Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett said he was “concerned about the quality of service” provided by Southeastern.

“This has been exacerbated by an increase in the number of commuters and the company’s failure to secure additional carriages to meet this demand,” he said.

“I have met with rail minister Claire Perry and others to discuss improvements on the network and I will be attending another summit with Southeastern and Network Rail soon to make further representations on behalf of my constituents.

“I will continue to do all I can to fight for a better service.”
