Cash will help club to buy new nets

Bexley Cricket Club has been given a £250 grant from UK Power Networks to buy new training nets.

It is the third year that the electricity company has helped the club after employee Andy Clay, from Sidcup, nominated them for the company’s Team Sport Award scheme.

Andy, an electrical engineer, said: “Our nets are probably 10 years old and have gradually deteriorated so the money will go towards replacing those. It’s much needed and brilliant news for our family-friendly club.
