AN 'INSPIRATIONAL' mum who adopted and fostered scores of children has been given a Mother's Day card worth £3,000.
Daughter Amanda Batey, 37, handed over the diamond encrusted card designed by Tess Daly last Friday after her mum was crowned the country's most inspirational mum by Hallmark cards.
Mother-of-six Lesley Batey, 58, from Erith, has spent more than 37 years fostering and adopting children whilst campaigning for children with learning difficulties.
Her daughter said: "She is such an inspiration to me. I have never known her have time to herself as kids will always come first. She means the world to me."
The super-mum also helped her daughter-in-law Diane Nutt through a battle with breast cancer and helped look after her five and two-year-old children when she died eight years ago. Now Mrs Batey is the full-time carer for an autistic adult as well as being a school governor for Oakwood in Bexleyheath and Woodside in Belvedere.
