Night road closures in Sidcup take place next week for road resurfacing

The road improvements are a part of the Sidcup Town Area Renewal scheme

A series of road closures are taking place across Sidcup next week.

Main Road, Elm Road, Station Road, and High St Junction will all be closed from 7pm-2am from Monday March 27-30, to resurface the roads for the Sidcup Town Area Renewal improvement scheme.

All roads except fot the High Street eastbound, will be open as normal during the day. This section of the road will be closed at the Main Road, Station Road junction to Hatherley Road from March 28 for work outside McDonalds. The High Street will be open westbound during the day as usual.

Diversion routes suitable for all vehicl types will be sign posted during these periods and bus services will operate as close to the normal route as possible.

Residents and businesses close to the affected area will be receiving information on the works from today.

The STAR scheme has been progressing since September 2016. The works are nearing completion now with one of the final stages being the resurfacing of the road.

The scheme has already improved pedestrian access and the street environment in the High Street and around the station.
