A DISPERSAL zone has been introduced to crack down on anti-social behaviour.

Bexley council have introduced the dispersal zone which is due to take effect on July 28 for six months in Northumberland Heath and Bexley Road. The order will give police powers to disperse groups of people from the area and take home under 16s between 9pm and 6am. The Dispersal Zone was previously in place in Northumberland Heath area from May to October last year where it was noted there was a dramatic fall in reported crime to the police. Police Sergeant Kirstie Halls said: "It is essential that people understand that you cannot come to Northumberland Heath to cause trouble. Residents, young and old, and local businesses have had enough!
