INSPIRATIONAL youngsters are set to be honoured at an annual award service.

Bexley council's Integrated Youth Support Service - IYSS are looking for nominations for their event on March 16 at the New Community Church in Station Road, Sidcup.

The event recognises the achievements of 11 to 19-year-olds, in nine categories, including bravery, good friends and young carers, personal achievement in music, sport or an outdoor activity and service to the community.

Deputy Leader of Bexley council Simon Windle said: "The majority of young people are hard working, conscientious and extremely focused.

" It is only right we recognise their achievements wherever we can. I would urge anyone who knows a likely candidate to get in touch with the team or download the form and make a nomination."

Bexley's IYSS, which includes schools, the police, the fire service, voluntary and uniformed groups, and health services, supports and encourages young local people to reach their personal goals.

If you know a young person who you feel should be recognised, contact Mick Cahill on 07970 023226 or 020 8308 1821 or you can email mick.cahill@bexley.gov.uk.

The closing date for nominations is next Friday, February 19.
