OAP suffers broken legs in horror smash

A PENSIONER who had both legs broken when she was hit by a car remains in a stable condition in hospital.

A PENSIONER who had both legs broken when she was hit by a car remains in a stable condition in hospital.

The 79-year-old woman was using a pelican crossing in Shooters Hill Road, by the junction with Constitution Rise, when a silver BMW collided with her at around 8.45am, last Wednesday.

The impact broke her pelvis and legs, and left her with internal injuries.

Ambulance crews rushed the victim to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and police report that she is now awake and talking.

The 21-year-old BMW driver has been arrested and bailed, however Police still need witnesses to come forward.
