Crowds will gather in Bexley on Sunday as the Olympic torch relay finally comes to the borough, just five days before the start of the Games.

The iconic starts at Erith Yacht Club at 4.14pm, before starting its eight mile route at 16.49, ending up in Danson Park for an evening of celebration at 6.43pm.

It was announced earlier this week boxing champion and Olympic gold medallist Lennox Lewis, who has connections to Crayford, will light the torch at the end of the route.

The gates to Danson Park open for the celebration at 4pm, with entertainment running until 7.30pm. Hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks will be the headline act.

In total 30 people will be carrying the torch around Bexley.
